PIRATES FIGHTBACK TO SNATCH DRAW

POOLE staged a dramatic comeback from ten points down to force a 46-46 draw at Leicester.

Chris Holder and Hans Andersen combined for 5-1s in Heats 13 and 15, with Lions duo Aaron Summers and Szymon Wozniak having responded in the fourteenth.

Holder led the decider with Andersen switching back on the first turn to get the better of the home pairing and secure two points for the Pirates.

Wozniak had been unbeaten to that stage, scoring 11+1, whilst Holder led the way for the visitors on 10+1.

Leicester boss Norrie Allan said: “On reflection a draw was a far result. We were the better team early on but Poole never let us relax and to their credit they got it together after the halfway stage .

“I would like to thank Richard Lawson for standing in for Sebastian Ulamek at the last moment.”

Leicester 46 points: Patrick Hougaard 5, Josh Auty 2+1, Aaron Summers 5+1, Szymon Wozniak 11+1, Richard Lawson 8, Nicolai Klindt 9+1 and Paul Starke 6+2

Poole 46 points: Hans Andersen 9+1, Krzysztof Buczkowski 4+2, Adam Ellis 2+1, Bjarne Pedersen 10, Chris Holder 10+1, Brady Kurtz 8+1 and Steven Worrall 3
